April Newsletter

Hello from my desk, my basement, my closet, my front porch (on sunny warm days)…any where I can find a place to hide away from the family during this time so I can focus on writing to you. I miss you! I miss helping and treating you! I know in such uncertain times we may not know what the other side of “shelter in place” will look like. But what I do know in my heart is that we will back in the clinic and we will heal from this time and continue our healing journey.

I know some of you have reached out to share you are struggling. And yes, I have been too. This is a time where we need to turn inwards towards our struggles and find the light and voice within us. I know this sounds cheesy, but we are being tested on our strengths and willingness to help ourselves. This is what I have tried to encourage patients to do since I opened my clinic 20 years ago. We can help ourselves. There is light, there is a healing voice within all of us. You may need to turn up the volume, or wait and be patient, but our beings want to survive. Listen and trust what you hear, and then do what your body asks of you. The simplest way to start is to sit some place quiet comfortable (even if it’s in your bathroom!) and take a few moments to breathe IN and OUT.

I am also checking my work phone and email almost daily (M-F). So if you want to reach out quickly, I will see and hear you. I cannot offer talk therapy, but I can hear you and acknowledge you. I do have have referrals for licensed therapists who are able to talk with you and sort through your experiences. They have shared they are doing calls and video chats. So please do not hesitate to reach out and let me know if you need a referral!

We are all in this together.

Currently, the clinic will be closed until April 30th, 2020 (but I do feel that will be extended further out into May) After the proposed time, I will be closely monitoring our community and our situation, and I will make decisions also based on my comfortability to support space for you. When a I feel the time has come to reschedule I will reach out to all those who have had scheduled appointments that were cancelled since March 16th, 2020. My priority is to get those appointments scheduled first, then I will open up the schedule for new requests. Please know I will be extending my office hours as well, but I also need to have rest time too. But I wanted to let you know that I will be trying the best I can to support you!

I hope you and your families are safe and doing your best to be well during such a historical time in our world. I am confident we will see each other again.

Peace and love, Kelly
